🌿 Your Questions, Answered with Love

Whether this is your very first class or you're finding your way back to the mat, we're so glad you're here.

These answers are meant to make you feel at home before you even walk through the door.

  • Pre-Registration Policy — No Walk-Ins (Even the Enlightened Kind!)

All classes must be pre-registered in advance — there are no walk-ins. This keeps the energy intentional and makes sure your space on the mat is always ready and waiting. Simply find the class you'd like on the schedule, click to register, and you're all set.  Click Here:  https://www.blisstopiayoga.com/schedule     We can't wait to see you.🧘✨

  • Do I need to be a member to attend classes?

Yes — Blisstopia Yoga is a Private Ministerial Association (PMA), which means our classes are offered exclusively to members of our private wellness community. We're not a commercial studio open to the general public — we're a sacred sanctuary for mindful movement, soulful connection, and personal growth. Becoming a member is simple, and once you're in, your spot in this community is yours. 🧘✨

  • How early should I arrive?

We recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before class begins. This gives you time to check in, find your spot, breathe, and settle in — especially important if it's your first time. It also gives you the chance to introduce yourself to the teacher and share anything you'd like them to know before we begin. Let your practice start the moment you walk in.

  • What if I'm late?

Out of respect for the sacred space and for everyone already settled in, our doors typically close once class begins. We know life happens, and we genuinely appreciate your understanding. If you are only a couple minutes late – please be respectful and quietly come in and take your spot. If you're running behind more than 5 minutes late, please plan to join us for the next class — we'll be happy to see you then.

  • What should I wear?

Whatever makes you feel comfortable and free to move. Loose, stretchy clothing or form-fitting athletic wear both work beautifully. For certain class styles, leggings, fitted shorts, and a tank top are perfect. There's no uniform here, no judgment, no performance. Just wear something you can breathe and move in. That's it.

  • Do I need to bring a yoga mat?

If you have your own mat, yes, please do bring it with for each class.  If you dont have a mat.

We have mats available to rent for $2, so you're covered if you're just getting started. If yoga begins to feel like home — and we think it will — having your own mat becomes a meaningful part of the experience. We'll encourage you to grab one when you're ready. We have several styles to choose from in the lobby.  No rush at all.

  • Is there water available?

Yes! We have a filtered water station fed from our private well, so feel free to fill your bottle before or after class. We recommend bringing a reusable water bottle with you, especially for more active or heated practices.

  • How Often Should I Do Yoga?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer, because yoga isn’t just about how many times you show up on your mat — it’s about how you show up for yourself.

That said, consistency creates the deepest shifts. If you’re new to yoga, even one or two classes a week can begin to open your body, calm your mind, and bring more awareness into your daily life. As you start to feel the benefits, you might naturally want to come more often.

For many students, three to four times a week feels like a beautiful balance — enough to stay connected, strong, and grounded without feeling overwhelmed.

And remember, yoga isn’t only the physical postures. Some days your practice might be a few mindful breaths, a moment of stillness, or choosing kindness — and that counts too.

The most important thing is to listen to your body, trust your rhythm, and let your practice be something that supports your life, not another thing on your to-do list.

  • I Don't Think I've Very Flexible. Will I Be Able To Do Yoga?

Contrary to popular belief, being flexible isn’t a prerequisite for practicing yoga! Some people are born naturally flexible, others have to work a little longer to attain their optimum flexibility. A regular yoga practice will definitely increase your flexibility. However, flexibility isn’t yoga’s only goal or its only benefit. The ultimate benefit of yoga -- to promote radiant health inside and out -- can be experienced by everyone, regardless of whether or not they can touch their toes!

  • I Have An Ongoing Problem With My Back/Shoulder/Neck/Knee, etc. Will yoga help?

Yoga has proven therapeutic benefits when carefully applied. Speak to your instructor before class if you have an injury or other on-going physical concerns. He or she will then be able to tell you which poses to avoid and how to work around your problem areas. They may also be able to suggest particular poses you can do on your own that might help.

  • Some of the poses don't feel very comfortable to me and I'm sore the next day. I thought Yoga was suppose to make you feel good?

Yoga balances and tones your body by using all your muscles and taking all your major joints through every possible range of motion. As you begin, you'll be calling upon parts of yourself you probably haven't used in quite some time, if ever (which explains that temporary soreness). It's natural for some of the poses to feel awkward or uncomfortable at first, but you'll discover that with a little time and regular practice, your body will begin to open, adapt and grow stronger. Along with feeling increasingly calm yet energized, centered and relaxed, your gradually increasing comfort in the poses will tell you you’re making progress.

  • What's the best type of class for me to begin with?

Great question — and the answer depends on what you're looking for:

    • Brand new to yoga? Start with a Gentle, Foundational, or Slow Flow class. These move at an easy, welcoming pace — giving you time to learn the poses, connect with your breath, and understand how your body responds. No rushing, no pressure. Just you, finding your footing.

    • Here for stress relief or better sleep? A Yin or Restorative class is your perfect entry point. Deeply calming, slow, and healing — these practices help you release what you've been holding and truly rest.

    • Already active and ready to move? A Vinyasa or Kundalini Fusion class can feel powerful and energizing — linking breath with movement in a way that's as meditative as it is physical.

Each style carries its own energy.

Part of the joy of yoga is discovering what resonates with you.

Your body will tell you when you've found the right fit — it'll feel like coming home.

  • When I look around the classroom, it seems like others are more advanced than I am. Should I be concerned?

Our friendly instructors have all been trained to teach students of varying levels of ability and experience within the same class and are careful to maintain a supportive learning environment in which everyone can feel comfortable working at their own level. Whether they're demonstrating how to modify a challenging pose by using various props or giving you a hands-on adjustment in the course of teaching the entire group, our instructors make sure that everyone in the classroom can participate, from seasoned students to absolute beginners. Always feel free to ask your instructor for additional help or clarification if you need it. They're happy to help!
